Genteel & Bard is a family owned and operated walking tour company that blossomed from the Michaels family love for their beautiful city of Savannah, Georgia.
T.C. Michaels, a classically trained actor, storyteller, and former radio personality in Savannah for some years – guides visitors on walking tour experiences, highlighting the city’s storied and dark history. His wife Brenna – a novelist – is responsible for marketing, managing the website, and guest services.
Providing Five-Star Walking Tours
Together T.C. and his wife Brenna take visitors on a journey through the history of Savannah, while showcasing the city’s stunning and distinguished scenery. Here is their story.
Walking Tour Audio Adds Value to Visitors
Genteel & Bard uses the HearMe Tour Guide System to deliver live narration and multimedia experiences to their tour groups. Using a dedicated Auxilliary input on the HearMe Tour Guide transmitter, guides can add additional layers of professional storytelling, music and sound effects to create a complete audio theatre walking tour experience.
“We utilized the auxiliary input to share actor’s voiceover letters, speeches, and journals – so that when we’re standing in front of a location, I’m playing the real history of what took place inside a house or location, not some fictitious version of it. It took our tours to the next level,” says T.C. “Also, parents love the audio equipment and earbuds because if they have a child whose crying, they can go to the other side of the square or street without missing out on anything. Of course, older guests love it too because it cuts out city noise and offers clear communication for everyone.”
Since the introduction of the multimedia experience, Genteel & Bard is continuously gaining five-star reviews on TripAdvisor and were recently Awarded Americana’s Tailor Made Tour of the Year 2018. From all of us at AudioConexus, a big thank you and congratulations to T.C. and Brenna for their hard work and commitment to making tourism better every day!
